Noah Kahan Turns “Stick Season” Into “Skit Season” in New SNL Promos With Matt Damon

Noah Kahan joins Matt Damon and Ben Marshall in SNL promos that riff on "Stick Season" as Kahan's new album debuts at No. 1.

Noah Kahan surfaces in Saturday Night Live promos trading earnest folk confession for sitcom-level wordplay, sharing a sketchy back-and-forth with host Matt Damon and SNL castmember Ben Marshall as he arrives at the show riding a new No. 1 album.

In the brief clips NBC has rolled out ahead of the episode, Kahan’s easy charm collides with the show’s self-referential humor. He opens with the kind of star-struck line you expect from a late-night musical guest: “This is so exciting. I’ve always wanted to do something with Matt and Ben,” a line that lands into a delightfully specific SNL joke when Marshall replies, “Aw, thanks so much, man. That’s so cool.”

Kahan immediately backpedals: “I’m sorry, I meant Ben Affleck.” Marshall pushes back with mock indignation — “Why would you bring that up now, right?” — while Kahan insists, “It’s the first time I’m seeing Matt!” The exchange gets stranger and kinder: Damon tells Kahan, “We’d actually love to do something with you,” and the singer fires back, “Hell yeah, amazing. Thank you. Huge fan!”

The promo leans into Kahan’s breakout moment for a cheap laugh. Marshall offers up a pun on the title track that made Kahan a crossover name: “More like Skit Season,” a riff on “Stick Season.” Damon mock-rebukes him: “This is your first-ever promo and you blow it on ‘Skit Season’?” Kahan chides, “Come on, you’re better than that, Ben.” Marshall tries again with “more like Noah Ka-haha-han,” and the two men end up laughing it off.

“This is so exciting. I’ve always wanted to do something with Matt and Ben,”

The timing of the cameo is notable. Kahan has just released his fourth studio album, The Great Divide, which debuts atop the Billboard 200 this week — a milestone that cements the Vermont-born singer-songwriter’s leap from intimate streaming sensation to headline-level draw. This appearance marks his second time as SNL musical guest since his debut on the show in December 2023.

Damon, meanwhile, returns to host for the third time in 25 years, after previous stints in October 2022 and December 2018. In the promos, Kahan does the showbiz math and jokes that at this pace Damon will be a member of SNL’s Five-Timers Club around 2052.

Saturday Night Live airs at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT on NBC and is available to stream on Peacock.
