Billy Corgan lines up 2026 UK and European dates for ‘A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness’
Billy Corgan will bring his orchestral Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness shows to London, Antwerp, Paris and Madrid in September 2026.
Billy Corgan is taking A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness back to the road in the UK and Europe, extending the orchestral Smashing Pumpkins project that first launched in North America after its March 2025 announcement.
The show began in Chicago in November, when Corgan, who has become as visible for podcasting and wrestling commentary as for fronting the Pumpkins, spent seven nights at the Lyric Opera House with a 60-piece orchestra. The framing was bold enough already: an operatic reworking of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, the band’s 1995 landmark, presented as a “completely new, sonic and visual experience.”
Now the concept is crossing the Atlantic. Under the billing A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness Featuring Billy Corgan, the production will play London’s Royal Festival Hall on September 1 and 2 before heading to Antwerp for two shows, then Paris for two more, and Madrid later that month.
The music is credited to Corgan and Grammy-nominated conductor James Lowe, with the performances set to pair the alt-rock figurehead with world-class soloists and orchestras. A press release says the aim is to “re-imagine and pay homage to the era-defining album of the same name, whilst also expanding the definition and intention of opera”. It also singles out a “tear-jerking” version of “Tonight, Tonight” by the orchestra.
The staging has been handled by House of Gilles by Gilles, while the additional vocalists include Ed Parks, who will appear in London, Belgium and France, alongside Sydney Mancasola, Zoie Reams, Dominick Valdes Chenes and Dean Murphy, the latter only on the Spanish date.

The tour arrives after a busy run of anniversary activity around Mellon Collie. Last year, Smashing Pumpkins released a 30th anniversary deluxe reissue of the album, complete with more than 80 minutes of unreleased audio from the band’s 1996 tour, a hardbound book with new liner notes from Corgan, a custom tarot card set and seven frameable lithographs.
That reissue followed comments Corgan made to NME the previous February, when he said he was “working with the parent label” on a revisited version of the record. “It’s weird because I can’t believe it’s been 30 years. I’m really excited, but at the same time, I’m like ‘What happened over these last 30 years?’” he said.
More recently, Corgan has continued to treat his own legacy as something to be prodded, reframed and cross-wired with other pop-cultural currents. He invited Hole’s Melissa Auf der Maur onto his podcast and spoke about being inspired by Courtney Love, later bringing Love herself on the show as the pair discussed their issues with “gatekeeper” Kim Gordon. He also duetted with Sombr at Coachella.
