Andrew Lownie stands by claim Sarah Ferguson and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs were ‘friends with benefits’
Andrew Lownie says new evidence backs claims Sarah Ferguson and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs had a secret relationship.
Royal author Andrew Lownie is standing by his claim that Sarah Ferguson once had a sexual relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs, doubling down on allegations that have now been expanded in the paperback edition of his book Entitled.
Lownie first charted the lives of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson in the 2025 hardback Entitled, but on Saturday (May 9) he published new accusations about Ferguson and Combs ahead of the updated paperback, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, due on May 21.
In an extract printed by the <Daily Mail over the weekend, Lownie says a former employee at Combs’ Bad Boy Records told him the rapper was fixated on the royal family and would boast about sleeping with Ferguson. The same source allegedly said Combs once remarked that “he could not wait until Fergie’s daughters come of age”.
Combs was sentenced last year to four years and two months in prison after being convicted on federal prostitution-related charges, a legal collapse that has only sharpened the scrutiny around anyone linked to him, however loosely.
Lownie’s paperback also quotes another associate of Combs who says Ferguson met him at a 2002 party hosted by Ghislaine Maxwell, with a secret “friends with benefits” arrangement beginning in 2004 and continuing for years. Maxwell, a friend of Ferguson and Jeffrey Epstein’s former partner, was convicted of sex trafficking in December 2021, along with other charges tied to procuring underage girls for Epstein.
A source close to Ferguson rejected the allegations outright, telling <The Sunday Times>: “This is absolute fabricated nonsense, blatantly untrue, and yet another false allegation from him.”
Lownie told the paper he was confident in his reporting, saying his evidence came from several people and that he had no doubts about the sources. “I stand by it, it’s fully sourced with former employees of P Diddy and Sarah Ferguson,” he said, while also pointing to Ferguson’s earlier denial of contact with Epstein after 2011 as something he believes was contradicted by later evidence.
That evidence includes an email that surfaced last September, in which Ferguson called Epstein, who was arrested in July 2019 on sex trafficking charges, her “supreme friend” and apologised for publicly criticising him, only weeks after saying she would have nothing to do with him. The fallout was immediate: several charities dropped her as a patron and ambassador after the email became public.
The first hardback edition of Entitled landed last August and preceded the wider, more dramatic deterioration of Andrew and Ferguson’s public standing, fuelled by a set of lurid claims that included the former prince being described as a “serial sex addict” who had allegedly slept with more than 1,000 women.
In the new paperback, Lownie also says the men’s fragrance Combs released in 2006, Unforgivable, was inspired by Ferguson and the way she liked a man to smell. He further claims Ferguson introduced her two daughters to Combs repeatedly, including during a yacht-party weekend in 2006 when Eugenie was 16. According to a royal staff member quoted by Lownie, “Sean’s parties were wild. The fact that she brought Eugenie around was alarming.”
