2027 Grammy Awards Set for Feb. 7 on ABC, Marking a Return After 55 Years

The 2027 Grammy Awards will air on ABC from Crypto.com Arena on Feb. 7, with nominations set for Nov. 16.

The 2027 Grammy Awards will air live on ABC from Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2027, with streaming available on Disney+ and Hulu. The date and broadcast plans were announced Tuesday, May 12, during Disney’s Upfront presentation in New York City, alongside the first major milestone of the season: nominations will be announced Monday, Nov. 16.

It is a notable shift for the Recording Academy, not just because of the platform change but because it sends the show back to ABC for the first time since 1972. The Grammys’ move to ABC, Hulu and Disney+ was first announced in October 2024, but the 2027 ceremony makes the reunion feel concrete. Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, framed the move as more than a scheduling update, calling it “a new home and a bold new chapter for the Grammy Awards.” He added, “The Grammys are all about celebrating the music that moves the world, and this moment is built on exactly that. This is an exciting time for us as an organization — a new home and a bold new chapter for the Grammy Awards. We’re just getting started and the best is yet to come.”

The network history matters here. The first two live Grammy telecasts, in 1971 and 1972, both aired on ABC before the awards moved to CBS in 1973. CBS held onto the show through the 2026 ceremony, which aired on Feb. 1, and the last four broadcasts also streamed on Paramount+. ABC, then, is not just a new partner but a return to the site of the Grammys’ earliest televised identity.

Crypto.com Arena remains the ceremony’s most familiar home. Since 2000, the show has taken place there in all but four years. The exceptions were 2003 and 2018, when the Grammys were held at Madison Square Garden in New York, and 2021 and 2022, when the pandemic and its variants forced moves to the Los Angeles Convention Center and MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, respectively.

What is still missing, at least for now, is the host. Trevor Noah fronted the last six Grammy telecasts, but the Recording Academy has not yet named who will anchor the 2027 show. For a ceremony that has spent the last few years settling into a post-pandemic rhythm, the combination of a new broadcaster, a longtime venue and an unannounced host suggests a season that is being carefully repositioned rather than simply repeated.
