Charli XCX Shares Vinyl-Only B-Side “I Keep Thinking About You Every Single Day And Night”

Charli XCX has moved quickly into the next phase of her Brat era. Just a day after releasing the divisive, rage-baity single “Rock Music,” she surfaced with a companion track, “I Keep Thinking About You Every Single Day And Night,” a b-side that is only available on vinyl and through her b.sides Instagram account.

In the caption, Charli framed the release as part of the same orbit as “Rock Music”: “’i keep thinking about you every single day and night’ the b side to rock music,” she wrote. “i went to kyoto for six weeks to shoot a film. while we were there, i made this video with aidan [Zamiri]. only available on vinyl & here on b.sides. so rip the audio if you want it xx.”

The track lands in the long-running pop tradition of the sapphic-leaning ballad, though with Charli the usual sincerity is never quite that simple. She has a habit of folding a joke into the confession, and vice versa. “Now I’m wondering if I maybe could be gay/ But come on, look at me, I’m probably not,” she sings, in a line that sounds engineered to keep listeners arguing about whether they are meant to read it literally at all.

That ambiguity is part of why the song is already pulling attention from multiple directions. Some listeners have read it as a response to Taylor Swift’s “Actually Romantic,” while another lyric pushes further into the same territory: “I’ve always wondered if you were actually gay/ Or if that’s somеthing you just say for your career.” The result is a track that feels less like a clean statement than another Charli provocation, one designed to keep the discourse circling even as the music stays locked behind vinyl and Instagram.
