Latto says Big Mama, due May 29, will be her "retirement album" and final LP at age 28, a move tied to pregnancy and a swift ascent in hip-hop.

Latto has framed her next project as an endpoint. Big Mama, due May 29, is being billed by the Atlanta rapper as her “retirement album” and, she says, her final studio LP.

The announcement landed on Friday when Latto posted the short message on X.
Many fans reacted with disbelief. She is only 28, and when Big Mama arrives it will be her fourth full-length. “Latto don’t piss me the f–k off today fr,” one frustrated fanreplied. Another responded: “Be so for real you’re going to be right back to making music within 2 years.”
Context matters. Latto is currently pregnant, and the move reads as part practical, part personal: she could be choosing to pivot toward motherhood rather than an ongoing recording career. Big Mama will contain 17 tracks and gathers singles she has already released, including “Somebody,” “Business & Personal” and “GOMF,” which features GloRilla.
The announcement also invites a look back at how quickly Latto became a fixture. Her previous LP, 2024
